Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), every worker who may be required to use fire-extinguishing equipment must be trained on how to do so.
Under the OHSA, fire-extinguishing equipment must be provided and readily available to all workers. Employers are required to take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances to protect the health and safety of their employees. This includes ensuring workers have the knowledge and resources to either prevent a fire or to prepare for an emergency.
